Introduction
USB Storage Scan allows you to browse and play music from a USB storage device through your Aurender's library view, just like you do with internal storage. You can seamlessly access all your music in one place—no more switching to the 'Folder' tab for USB content.
Note: The USB/NAS Scan feature is specifically designed for users who prefer to maintain and access their music collection on external storage devices, regardless of available internal storage space. This is not a workaround for limited internal storage capacity, but rather a dedicated feature for those who intentionally choose to organize their content on USB drives or NAS devices as part of their preferred workflow and media management strategy.
Feature Limitations and Recommendations:
- File/Tag Management Limitations: Music files on USB drives and NAS storage will not be supported by future file management features and tag editing functionality via Conductor. These advanced features will only be available for content stored on the Aurender's internal storage.
- Best Experience Recommendation: For the most seamless and complete Aurender experience, we recommend using the internal storage whenever possible.
Getting Started
1. Update Your System
- Open the Conductor App
- Go to Settings
- From Aurender Update / Conductor Update, update both to the latest version
- Aurender's system software (x.24.52 or higher)

2. Connect USB Storage
- Connect your USB storage to any available USB port on your Aurender's back panel
- Note: We recommend reserving the USB Audio ports for your DACs

- Go to Settings - Storage & Library Information - Disk Information
- From the detected USB storage devices, select the one you want to use by pressing "Set USB Storage to Scan"
-
- Your Aurender will begin scanning the content and create a database

- Internal storage content
- Streaming content added to your library
- (New!) USB storage content
