Connecting to an Aurender From a Local Area Network (LAN) Using a Mac
All Aurender music servers are accessible as a Common Internet File System (CIFS) or Samba (SMB) shared folder on the local area network from a Mac computer. Following the process below will allow you to mount the Aurender's shared folder to your Mac and perform a number of tasks, such as transferring content, deleting content, or copying content from the Aurender to a backup location. More information on these functions is available at the bottom of the page.
Check the Aurender's IP Address and Login Credentials
First, make sure your iPad is connected to the same network as the Aurender, then open the Conductor App. Navigate to the "Settings > Storage & Library Information"(1) menu, and scroll down to the "Aurender File Share" section. This will display the network ID (shown in the below example as Aurender Name) and IP address of the Aurender, as well as a Username and Password, which you will need when mounting the Aurender shared folder from your PC (2). Note: default Username and Password are both "aurender".
Connect to Server from Mac OS X
From your Mac, select the "Finder" option from the Dock on the bottom of the desktop, then "Go", then "Connect to Server..." (you can also use the keyboard shortcut "command+K") (3).
A "Connect to Server" dialog window will appear. In the Server Address field, type "cifs://(IP address of Aurender)"(4), with the IP address as shown on your Conductor App, and click the "Connect" button (5). Please be sure to use the cifs://* function when connecting to the Aurender from Mac OS X.
*Note, smb:// as a prefix will typically also work, but we have found Macs to occasionally have issues with Samba in certain environments.

If your Aurender has two internal drives (W20, N10, or X100L), you will be prompted to select the root volume you would like to connect to/mount to your Mac, as shown in the screenshot below (8). You can connect to either root volume folder, Music1 or Music2. If you have an N100H or A10, the window will not appear and you will connect directly to the Music1 root folder.
Once you have mounted the folder, a new Finder window will appear listing the drives mounted to your Mac, with the Aurender shared folder already selected. If you are connecting to a brand new unit for the first time, you will see a list of default folder names already located on the Aurender's internal storage.
Shared Folder Actions
When the Aurender's shared folder is mounted to your Mac, you can perform a number of different functions including transferring content, deleting files or folders, and renaming files or folders. Please see the links below for further information.
