Building Playlists
Building your own playlists is a great way to cultivate and personalize your music library. You can build playlists from locally stored content, or content from streaming services, or a mix of various sources in one playlist. There are 2 ways to build playlists within the Aurender app:
1. Long-press on any item to add to a new or existing playlist:
As you are browsing, and you find something that you'd like to add to a playlist, press and hold (AKA "long press") on whatever track, artist, genre, composer, album, or other item that you'd like to add to a playlist. A dialog box will appear with the option to "Create a new playlist" or "Add to a playlist" at the bottom. Choose your preference, and the content you've selected will be added to a playlist accordingly:
This is a good way to incrementally build playlists as you go.
An alternative way to build a playlist follows...
2. Save current Queue as a playlist:
If, over the course of a listening session, you've compiled a group of tracks in the Queue that you'd like to save as a permanent playlist, simply hit the "Save" button at the bottom of the Queue window:
Give your new playlist a unique name and tap "Save":
Caution: if you tap on an existing playlist in the "Save playlist" window above, you will OVERWRITE (as opposed to adding to or amending) the existing playlist. So, type a NEW playlist name here to create a new playlist unless you want to erase and replace an existing playlist with the content that is currently loaded in your Queue. If you wish to ADD to an existing playlist, use method #1 above.
Information for syncing playlists comprised of streaming content with your streaming service account can be found here: Saving Aurender Playlists to Streaming Services
Playing Saved Playlists:
To load a playlist into the queue for immediate playback, tap the "Playlist" button at the bottom of the Queue window (left side of screen) and then tap the name of the playlist you wish to play. This will automatically clear your queue and replace it with the playlist you want to listen to. Alternatively, you may long-press on the playlist name and tap "add to end" to add the content of that playlist to the end of the Queue.
You can also use the buttons on the front panel of your Aurender to play a saved playlist. Press the "Menu" button (3 horizontal lines, or, on ACS models, the top button) to toggle through various screens until you get to the playlist screen. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the Playlist you wish to play. Use the "Play/Pause" button to play that Playlist.
Editing Playlists:
To edit a saved Playlist, tap "Playlist" button on the bottom left to display all your saved Playlists. Then, tap the "pencil" icon next to the Playlist you wish to edit.
This will automatically load the playlist you want to edit into the Playlist Editor mode:
From there, tap the "Edit" button at the bottom. You can re-order or re-arrange tracks by dragging the 3-line icon on the right side of each track:
Select any tracks you wish to delete by tapping the "circle" to the left of the track names. Then, tap "Delete." You can select more than one track at a time to delete multiple tracks at once:
Don't forget to tap "Save" when you are finished editing!
Deleting Playlists:
Sometimes you may want to do a little housekeeping and delete a playlist that you no longer care for. To delete a Playlist, tap the "Playlist" button to display all your saved playlists. Swipe right to left on the playlist you wish to delete, then tap "Delete."
