In some Windows 11 environments, Aurender shared storage may not be accessible through File Explorer even though the Aurender is powered on and connected to the network.
This is because recent versions of Windows 11 may have SMB1 (Server Message Block version 1) disabled by default. Enabling the SMB 1.0/CIFS Client feature can restore access to the Aurender storage.
Enable SMB1 in Windows 11
- Press the Windows key and type Windows Features.
- Click Turn Windows features on or off.
- Scroll down to SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support.
- Check SMB 1.0/CIFS Client.
- (Optional but recommended) Uncheck SMB 1.0/CIFS Automatic Removal.
- Click OK.
-
Restart Windows when prompted.
Access the Aurender Storage
After Windows restarts:
- Open File Explorer.
- In the address bar, enter either:
\\aurender
or
\\<Aurender-IP-Address>
Example:
\\192.168.1.100
If the connection is successful, the Aurender shared storage should appear and file transfers should work normally.
Additional Notes
- Make sure the Aurender and your Windows PC are connected to the same local network.
- If \\aurender does not work, try connecting using the Aurender's IP address.
- If the issue persists after enabling SMB1 and restarting Windows, please contact support@aurender.com.
