In regards to SPDIF digital transmission, "Professional" mode and "Consumer" mode refer to different serial protocols which govern the organization of information in the data stream, bit by bit.
In the vast majority of cases, the SPDIF input on your DAC will accept incoming data in EITHER "professional" or "consumer" mode and it will make no difference whatsoever.
A small handful of DACs require information to be delivered specifically in either pro or consumer mode. If you find that you are not getting sound or signal to the SPDIF input on your DAC, please try toggling from Consumer to Professional mode, or vice versa.
If you still are not getting sound on the SPDIF input after changing the output mode, please raise a Remote Support help ticket: How can I contact Aurender Technical Support?
