💡 Summary
From your Aurender(Local) Library, you can:
- set Star Ratings(⭐️) for Songs
- set Favorites(❤️) for Artists / Albums / Genres / Composers / Conductors / Labels
Previously, star ratings could only be assigned to Songs. Accordingly, filters by ratings in the other tabs of Conductor Library (Artists, Albums, etc.) would display matched items that contained rated songs.
Starting with Conductor V5, favorites (
) can now be assigned directly to Artists/Albums/Genres/Composers/Conductors/Labels(Publishers) as well. As a result, filtering behavior has changed accordingly.
Setting Star Ratings for Songs
You can assign star ratings (0–5 stars) to individual songs to mark your listening preferences. The following video will show you how set and remove Star Ratings:
After you have taken some time to set ratings in your library, you can use the "Star" filter.
Setting Favorites for other Category Items
In Conductor V5 and later, you can also set a Favorite on Artists / Albums / Genres / Composers / Conductors / Label.
To mark an Album as a Favorite:
Go to Conductor > Albums
Open the album detail page and tap the heart icon to toggle Favorite on or off. Or,
Tap the more button of the album and tap the heart icon.
Filtering by Favorites(❤️) and Ratings(⭐️)
Starting with Conductor V5 (v5.3 or higher), you can filter your library using Ratings and Favorites with enhanced flexibility across different views.
Songs tab
- Star Ratings: Filter songs by their individual star ratings, just as before
- Favorites: Not available in the Songs view
All other tabs (Artists, Albums, Genres, Composers, Conductors, Labels)
You can now filter using Favorites, Ratings, or both simultaneously:
- Favorite Filter (❤️) When enabled, only items you've explicitly marked as favorites will appear. For example, if you favorite an album, that album will show up—but other albums containing rated songs will not appear unless they're also favorited.
- Rating Filter When enabled, items containing songs with the selected star ratings will appear, regardless of whether the item itself is favorited.
- Combined Filtering When both filters are active, they work together (AND logic): only items that are both favorited AND contain songs matching your rating criteria will be displaye
