Smart Copy allows you to copy content from an external USB storage drive, or from a NAS (network attached storage) drive using the Aurender Conductor App. The process for copying from an external USB drive connected to one of the Aurender's rear USB data ports is detailed below.
Please note, all music playback will be paused during the Smart Copy process, though copy tasks may be paused to play music, and resumed when not listening to music.
Select the "Aurender" button selected (1) so that you can browse the internal contents of the Aurender (as opposed to TIDAL or Qobuz, etc.). Next, tap the "Folder" tab (2) to view the list of available storage devices.
Once the folder view has been selected, the root folder menu will appear. If an external USB drive is attached to one of the Aurender's rear panel data ports, you will be able to browse the contents of the drive by selecting the USB option.(3).
When USB is selected, a list of folders located in the root directory of the USB drive will appear. You can select as many or as few as you like by tapping the round check box next to each folder (4). In the screenshot example, we have selected some of the folders while leaving others unselected. Once you have selected the folders you wish to copy, press the "Copy to (aurender button)" text on the top right of the window (5).
A window will appear asking you to select a target folder (6). You can select an existing folder (as shown in our Quick Start Guide) by selecting the round checkbox next to the folder name (e.g., Music1)*, or you can tap the space next to the folder name to browse existing subfolders or to create a new folder to copy the content to.
If you choose an existing folder, please proceed to step (12). Otherwise, detailed below is the process to copy to another subfolder, or to create a new folder.
*If the target folder is full and you have a second Hard Disk Drive, the contents will be copied to the second HDD with the same folder structure as the first HDD.
You can check the status of the copy process by selecting the "Copy Status" option, where you can cancel or pause the copy process.
