Use the "Smart Tag Editor" utility to edit your library metadata. From the "Home" screen of the ACS/A30 Manager app, tap the "Smart Tag Editor" icon to get started:
The following metadata fields may be edited via the Smart Tag Editor:
- The Upper Pane of the metadata viewing window contains editable information that applies to ALL tracks on any given "Album."
- Album Cover Art - Tap on the album cover (or placeholder picture) to add or edit album cover art from the internet or by taking a photo.
- "Album" - Enter the name of the album as you want it to appear. In order for a group of tracks to be consolidated under one "Album" listing, they must all share an identical "Album" name.
- "Album Artist" - Enter the predominant performing artist on any given album. For compilation albums, use "Various Artists." In order for a group of tracks to be consolidated under one "Album" listing, they must all share an identical "Album Artist" names.
- "Genre" - Enter the Genre classification as you want it to appear. Genres may be semi-colon delimited so that you may file an album under more than one genre simultaneously.
- "Year" - Release date
- "Total Discs" - Total number of discs in set (for multi-disc sets)
- The Lower Pane of the metadata viewing window contains information that may be unique from track to track.
- "Disc Number" - For multi-disc sets, make sure that each track is tagged with the correct Disc Number. Multi-disc sets that have NOT been updated with the correct corresponding disc numbers will not be displayed in the correct order.
- "#" - Track Number
- "Title" - Track Title
- "Artist" - Enter the artist information for each individual track. The "Artist" field is semi-colon delimited. Use a ";" to separate two or more artist names so that they will each be individually searchable.
- "Genre" - Enter the Genre classification as you want it to appear. Genres may be semi-colon delimited so that you may file an album under more than one genre simultaneously.
- "Composer" - Enter Composer name, if applicable
- "Conductor" - Enter Conductor name
*For information in this Lower Pane that applies to ALL tracks on an album, tap the check box on the upper right corner of the Lower Pane, and information in whatever field you are editing will be applied to all tracks on the album.
When you are finished, don't forget to hit "Save!!!"
After saving the metadata, it will be stored in the Aurender unit's database, not in the file. If you wish to save the metadata to the file, you need to use the 'Export Metadata' feature. For more details on how to use the 'Export Metadata' feature, please refer to this manual.
